It’s the basic element of this object. UNI is 100% handmade in Portugal. Wood is a hot material that ensures a full transition from sea to land, keeping this urchin as natural and as alive as possible.
HANDMADE
After the 365 holes are carved one by one into de base of the urchin, the spikes are placed sequentially without any mechanical help. The tip of each spike is burned giving it a darker shade - like real sea urchin spikes - ensuring at the same time that it’s image has more volume approaching the aesthetics of this object of the beings that served as inspiration when doing it.
THE PROCESS
UNI’s manufacturing method is 100% manual and that makes each of our sea urchins really unique. There are no two alike.
